Provider, Promoter, Partner, or Peer

Dateline: July 3, 2015

Welcome to our Friday WRAP – one thought-provoking idea to think about over the weekend.

Business relationship management has a critical role in helping IT leaders build the best capabilities possible for working with their business partners.   Recently, the CSC Leading Edge Forum published a blog titled, Why is Business Relationship Management so Important in Today’s Rapidly Evolving IT World? that outlined four types of IT/Business relationships.   Researcher Kirt Mead explains,

The LEF has been following the BRM trend for many years, and in its past research has observed four different business/IT relationship models – those of Provider, Promoter, Partner and Peer – and thus four distinct roles that Enterprise IT must address if the function is to contribute fully at all levels of the business.

What type of relationship does your IT organization have with the business?  Is that the relationship you want to have?

That’s a WRAP!  Have a very nice July 4th Holiday weekend!
