Welcome to our Friday WRAP – one thought-provoking idea to think about over the weekend.
Recently, coauthors Dante Disparte and Daniel Wagner published a blog urging leaders to more accurately value their enterprise data to insure appropriate investments in securing that data. Their article, Do You Know What Your Company’s Data is Worth? raised interesting thoughts about accurately quantifying the enterprise value of data (EvD). They suggest,
The challenge is to quantify the precise value of data to a firm so that economic value can be ascribed to this asset class over time. This means determining not only what EvD means today, but what it will mean for the firm in the future.
What is your EvD? What measures are you taking to minimize the risk of eroding that value?
That’s a WRAP! Have a great weekend!
